Manager’s Message – April 2013

Well, I would like to let everyone know that the HCD inspection was completed last month with Mike Garrity and I following him around the park. Dennis stated that the entire park deserves a gold star as he stated that he rarely finds a park with very few violations but our park fell into that category. The main clubhouse, maintenance shop, laundry room and record keeping escaped without any violations. The only thing that he could find for the park violations was that there were about 20 homes that did not have a pole in the driveway area protecting the gas and electric meters. Mike and Rod have already completed putting in the poles so that has been taken care of. The main items that he found on individual homes were extension cords on the outside, interior electrical outlets on the outside of homes, damaged awning supports and a few places that need steps and hand rails where there weren’t any. So congratulations on doing such a great job of keeping up your homes. When the notices come out you will have some time to complete the violations before you are fined by HCD. I have been telling the park ahead of time to get rid of the exterior extension cords and to replace the damaged awning supports. Hopefully by the time you read this that Mike and Rod have the bathrooms and showers completed. They ran into a few problems not included in the bid as they found that the walls around the showers had rotted out so those needed to be replaced before the wall board could be installed but that is what happens when the proper maintenance was not done in the past.
